Manpollo Project Translation Guidelines
Back to Translation Index
Before tackling the translations for one of the videos please take the time to actually watch it (or, most likely "them" if they are multi-part). Having seen and heard how Greg brings his message across will help a lot with setting the tone for the translations!
General Guidelines
- Subtitles are formatted in the Spruce Subtitle Format, more information can be found here.
- Do not change the time codes on the subtitles. If you feel that two subtitles should be combined or one should be split into two, please make a note at the end of the document and it will be looked into.
- Generally no line breaks should be placed in the subtitles, these will be added automatically. If a line break is needed for stylistic or comprehension reasons, you can add them by placing a " | " (pipe) in the text.
- Styling of the subtitles is discouraged and should only be used when it is needed to further comprehension.
Styling Characters
" ^BText Here^B " - Placing ^B in the subtitle will make the text bold.
" ^IText Here^I" - Placing ^I in the subtitle will make the text italic.
" ^UText Here^U" - Placing ^U in the subtitle will underline the text.
