IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG)
Welcome to the website of the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG). IEA GHG is an Implementing Agreement of the International Energy Agency, and was founded in 1991. It is a major international research collaboration that assesses technologies capable of achieving deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The website is designed to provide details about IEA GHG, what our main activities are and the conferences we organise. In addition, it provides reference material on issues such as climate change and the need for emission reduction which underpins our continued existence.
This website provides a collection of resources related to the capture and storage of CO2. Deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are required in order to meet the UNFCC goal of stabilising anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. CO2 capture and storage technology would be used in combination with the other mitigation measures (e.g. fuel switching, energy efficiency and renewable energy) to achieve these necessary reductions. The site is produced and maintained by the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme.

Die Idee dabei ist, dass durch die Duengung der Ozeane, mehr Algen wachsen, und dadurch mehr CO2 gebunden wird. leider geht die Rechnung nicht auf. Siehe Studie von Stanford und orgon State Universities.
