Hamburger Klimaschutz Fond.  Wir wollen den Klimaschutz-Gedanken bekannt machen. Dazu unterstützen wir Projekte, die zu einem praktischen -pädagogisch begleiteten- Einsatz von regenerativen Energien führen. Als erstes Projekt haben wir Schulen beim Aufbau einer Solaranlage unterstützt. Zum einen wird dadurch umweltverträglich Strom und Wärme erzeugt. Zum anderen lernen Hamburger Schülerinnen und Schüler durch Anschauung und im Unterricht, Sonnenenergie direkt zu nutzen.

SciVee.  SciVee invites scientists to make their research known by combining their published scientific article with a corresponding video into an online presentation called a “SciVee pubcast.” The community can then freely view your presentation and engage in virtual discussions with you and other SciVee members about your research directly through commentary, community discussions and blogging features. SciVee also encourages everyone interested in science to create a free membership and join existing scientific communities or create their own new community around specific scientific interests where discussions and events can be organized, shared and documented.

Global Change Ecology (M.Sc.)within the Elite Network of Bavaria The program is devoted to understanding and analyzing the most important and consequential environmental concern of the 21st century; namely, Global Change. Problems of an entirely new and interdisciplinary nature require the establishment of innovative approaches in research and education. A special program focus is the linking of natural science perspectives on global change with approaches in social science disciplines.   The elite study program combines expertise of the Universities of Bayreuth, Augsburg and Würzburg, with that of Bavarian research institutions, and economic, administrative and international organisations. The program is unique in Germany from the standpoint of content and at the forefront with respect to international efforts. The goal is training of highly qualified leaders for tasks and problem solving in science, environmental protection, and with respect to political or economic decision making.   The University of Bayreuth provides an excellent profile and background in "Ecology and Environmental Science" as well as "African Studies" as determined by the expert commission "Science in Bavaria 2020". The academic departments provide special offerings for the elite degree program along with ongoing research projects that examine global change questions.

A great webside on which kids can model their own climate and see how climate is affected by various factors: EdGCM

The EdGCM Project develops and distributes a research-quality global climate model (GCM) with a user-friendly interface that runs on desktop computers. Anyone can explore the subject of climate change using the same methods and tools that scientists employ. The software allows users to experience the full scientific process including: designing experiments, setting up and running computer simulations, post-processing output, using scientific visualization to display results, and creating scientific manuscripts ready for publishing to the web.
