Hunger, poverty, drought, flooding, storms, species extinctions, food riots,...the world is in a serious crisis. More and more people are realizing that it is up to every one of us to help avoid a catastrophe that will not just effect our children, but also ourselves. But still too many people are not actively involved in preventing this catastrophe from happening. Too many people are blaming others, feeling not responsible, feeling powerless, or prefer to not believe the clear science out of fear to face the truth.
If you are concerned, then please help us spread the word to every corner of our planet, the word 350.
350 - as for 350 ppm. 350 parts of CO2 per million parts in the atmosphere. Yes, we are already above that (385 ppm).
Recent research has clearly shown that we ought to do anything possible to not just stop the increase of greenhouse gases, but we need to reduce the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere to prevent a global catastrophe. To accomplish this Herkulean - but accomplishable - task, we cannot rely on a few self-centered interest groups and politicians. We need to rely on us, on you, me, and all people of the world. It is up to us to make a difference. So, please, be part of the movement to reach the amazing time when we can look back and say: "We did it!"
On Pctober 24 2009 will be the day of global climate action. Please help to ensure that on this day the entire world, from school-children to profesors, from the person on the street to the CEOs of major industries know and UNDERSTAND that number.
